Prior year results have been impacted by one-off timing effects of the Financial Assistance Grant and grant funding received in advance relating to projects and program delivery during future financial years. These have not impacted on the 2019/20 result due to changes in how Council budgets for the Financial Assistance Grant and changes to accounting standard AASB15. The adjusted underlying result is an indicator of the sustainable operating result required to enable Council to continue to provide core services and meet its objectives. Council is focused on achieving a sustainable adjusted underlying surplus in the medium to long term.
