Mornington Peninsula Shire Council Says...

The increased participation and engagement of Aboriginal children in the Maternal Child Health (MCH) service is largely due to new State Enhanced MCH guidelines from which we have developed a new program that ensures all Aboriginal children are linked into either the Universal MCH service or the Enhanced MCH service, and our ability to offer a more flexible approach to service delivery, including: an outreach service to childcare centres and to families with children who have identified as Aboriginal and cannot/choose not to attend a MCH centre; monitoring client attendance and actively contacting clients who are overdue for their KAS (Key Age Stage) appointments; and an increase in governance over diary management, including streamlining meetings and clinical supervision resulting in more available appointment times.
