Animal management requests range from lost, wandering or nuisance pets to barking dogs, animal welfare concerns, dog attacks, reports of dangerous or menacing dogs and reports of illegal pet breeding activities.

The reclaim rate for domestic animal collected by Council is currently 67.84%, however the collection/removal of feral cats from the environment is also included in this data and as such has reduced the reclaim rate from 74.32%. 67 feral cats were removed from the natural environment during the reporting period. Unclaimed animal are placed into the care of Victorian Animal Aid Trust and, if suitable rehomed through their pet adoption program. All animals reclaimed by their owners are required to be registered before release.
